Instructions for clients of Marcil Lavallée

Dear clients,

As you know, we, as citizens, are experiencing difficult times. Following the new guidelines issued by the Ontario and Québec government authorities, here is how these new measures will affect Marcil Lavallée’s operations.

These guidelines, issued on March 23, 2020, identify accounting services as an essential service. Accordingly, Marcil Lavallée will maintain its Ottawa and Gatineau operations in order to provide the essential services required and to support clients that need assistance during these difficult times.

We will maintain our personal income tax preparation services and our financial statements’ engagements to the extent possible based on our clients’ availabilities. Please contact the Firm’s partner in charge of your account should you have any questions. We encourage you to send us your documents by email, by courier, by regular mail or to drop them off at our offices if the other options are not possible, while respecting the exceptional sanitary measures put in place at each location.

Although we remain operational, our activities will be slowed down by these new measures. It is probable that we will not be able to meet the agreed upon timelines for the completion of certain engagements. We will work closely with you to manage this situation in the circumstances. Thank you for your understanding.

As a corporate citizen, we want to do our part to limit contacts and avoid the spread of the COVID-19 virus. It is of the utmost importance for us to ensure the health and safety of our employees, our clients and our families. Our operations will therefore be maintained in a limited capacity. We strongly encourage our employees to telework whenever possible during this period.

Rest assured that we are diligently applying good sanitary control measures, including the quarantining of documents, teleworking, regular hand washing and social distancing in order to avoid this pandemic while maintaining our services to respond to the essential and urgent needs of our clients.

Please consult this page regularly for important updates regarding government assistance programs to be implemented in connection with COVID-19.

Finally, we encourage you to stay safe and to protect your health and your family during these difficult times.

Here are some of the steps we are undertaking in our modified procedures:
